Language, Literacy, and Learning in the Content Areas
As the year comes to a close, I cannot let 2015 dawn without noting the important anniversaries that passed this year.
· Sixty years ago (1954), Brown v. Board set the stage for racial desegregation, that “separate but equal” was not enough.
Kenji Hakuta and Jeff Zwiers recently posted an entry on the Alliance for Excellent Education’s “Core of the Matter” blog, focusing on academic language, equity, and the Common Core State Standards.
