Magda Chia, Director of Strategy, Impact, and Policy, has contributed a chapter to a seminal book, Handbook of Accessible Instruction and Testing Practices. This chapter, geared towards state education leaders as well as assessment developers, explains the ways in which a state or groups of states can operationalize and implement universal design principles throughout the entire assessment design and development process, including creation of the test administration platform, item writing, piloting, field testing, and scoring.
